# What a listing shows

Every listing shows the venue type, the address and a plain description. Some also show hours, food and the number of zero-proof drinks. This guide explains each field.

Updated 2026-10-20. Also on the [web page](https://soberbars.fyi/guides/what-a-listing-shows).

Every listing starts with the venue name and its category. The category tells you what kind of place it is: an alcohol-free bar, a non-alcoholic bottle shop, a zero-proof restaurant or a sober event series. This site lists bars and bottle shops now.

The description is a short factual paragraph. It says what the venue is and what makes it alcohol-free. For hand-checked venues we wrote it from the venue's own website. For OpenStreetMap rows it comes from the map tags. It adds no opinion.

The address is split into street, city, region and postal code. The region label depends on the country: State in the United States, Australia and Germany, Province in Canada, Nation in the United Kingdom and Region in France. The site covers those six countries.

The attributes show the facts that matter for an alcohol-free venue:

- **Venue type.** Bar, bottle shop, restaurant with a zero-proof program or sober event series.
- **Serves alcohol.** Always No on this site. Every listed venue serves no alcohol.
- **Serves food.** Yes or No, when the source states it.
- **Zero-proof drinks on the menu.** The number of alcohol-free drinks on the menu when we added the listing. Only a few listings show it.
- **Typical price per zero-proof drink.** The walk-in price of a signature zero-proof drink, in local currency. No listing shows it yet.
- **Opening hours.** The regular weekly hours from the venue's own site or OpenStreetMap, when given.

A listing can also show a phone number, a website and map coordinates. Not every venue has them. A blank field means we did not find the fact. It does not mean the venue lacks it.

Every listing links to its source. For hand-checked venues the link leads to the venue's own site. For OpenStreetMap rows it leads to the OpenStreetMap page. We read all sources on 2026-10-20. The venues have not yet reviewed the facts. Check the venue's own site before you go.

A completeness score sorts the review queue for site editors. It does not hide any page, and it does not rank venues for visitors. A listing with a description, a website, a phone number, hours and a precise address scores higher.

Here is one example. Cheeky & Dry in Seattle is listed as a non-alcoholic bottle shop. Its listing shows hours from Tuesday to Sunday. Its description says that every bottle it stocks is 0.5% ABV or less. The source link leads to the venue's own site. We dropped one OpenStreetMap row after the venue's own site showed that it serves beer.

The footer credits OpenStreetMap contributors for the rows that come from OpenStreetMap. The Open Database License applies to those rows.

## Questions

### Does every listing have the same fields?

No. A listing has the fields we found for it. Some lack hours, a phone number or a website. The listing page shows what is there.

### How do I know a listing is current?

We read each source on the date we added the listing. Hours and prices change. Check the venue's own site or call ahead.

### What is the source link on a listing?

It is the page we used to add the listing. For hand-checked venues it is the venue's own site. For OpenStreetMap rows it is the OpenStreetMap page.
