# Alcohol-free venues in the United States

The United States has the most venues on this site: alcohol-free bars, kava bars and non-alcoholic bottle shops in seven states. This guide shows what is listed and where the facts come from.

Updated 2026-10-20. Country: United States. Also on the [web page](https://soberbars.fyi/guides/alcohol-free-venues-in-the-united-states).

The United States has the most venues on this site. It lists 14. They are in seven states: Texas, New York, California, Illinois, Tennessee, Washington and Florida. The cities are Austin, Brooklyn, New York, Rochester, Venice, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Roseville, Chicago, Nashville, Seattle and Naples. Brooklyn has the most listings, with three. This is a small, hand-checked set. It is not every alcohol-free venue in the country.

**What the US listings cover.** There are two main kinds. Alcohol-free bars include zero-proof cocktail bars, three kava bars and one kombucha bar. Non-alcoholic bottle shops sell only alcohol-free drinks to take away. The shops run from Brooklyn and Venice to Chicago, Nashville and Seattle. This site lists no US zero-proof restaurant or sober event series yet.

**How a venue gets on the list.** Two sources feed the US data. The first is OpenStreetMap. Venues tagged as serving no alcohol, such as the kava bars and the kombucha bar, come from there. The second is each venue's own website. We read the site and add the venue only if the site says it serves no alcohol. For example, Sans Bar in Austin calls itself the first non-alcoholic bar in North America on its own site. Killjoy in Nashville calls itself a booze-free beverage shop. Cheeky and Dry in Seattle says every bottle it stocks is 0.5% ABV or less.

**Where the facts come from.** Each listing links to the page we used. Hand-checked venues link to the venue's own site. OpenStreetMap rows link to the map page. We read these pages on 2026-10-20. The venues have not yet reviewed what we recorded. Treat each listing as a starting point and check the venue's own site.

**Hours and prices.** A listing shows opening hours when the source gave them. Some US listings have no hours. Hours change, so check with the venue before you go. No US listing shows a price per drink yet. The zero-proof night out cost tool lets you enter your own prices to compare a night on cocktails with a night on alcohol-free drinks.

**Choosing where to go.** Pick a bar for a night out and a bottle shop to buy drinks to take home. Check whether the venue serves food. A listing shows this when the source states it. Soft Bar in Brooklyn and Ocean Beach Cafe in San Francisco are two US listings that serve food. Hours differ a lot. Sans Bar lists only Friday evening hours, while Ocean Beach Cafe lists hours for every day. Confirm them with the venue.

**Add a venue.** If you know an alcohol-free venue that is not here, use the suggest a venue form. An admin reviews each submission before it is listed.
